Summary
Leader Identity Narrative, I reflect on the personal and professional experiences that have shaped my leadership style over the years. A turning point came in high school when a friend's comment and The Power of Positive Thinking shifted my mindset toward optimism and growth, laying the foundation for my transformational leadership approach. My early career taught me situational and authentic leadership through hands-on responsibility, risk-taking, and building successful teams. Volunteer service as a firefighter and Scoutmaster showed me the value of servant leadership and the importance of guiding others to become leaders themselves. Facing the Louisiana floods and returning to school later in life further reinforced transformational and authentic leadership, showing that growth and influence can happen at any stage.
Self-Reflection
Writing this narrative reminded me of how far I’ve come, not just in career titles, but in mindset, purpose, and impact. Leadership for me has never been about authority; it's about influence, growth, and being someone others can count on. Each challenge, whether personal or professional, helped shape a deeper sense of responsibility and humility. I’m proud of the legacy I’ve built so far and even more excited about continuing to lead by example, always learning and helping others do the same.
